Deep In Our Hearts is the story of four young, white women who defied the color line to work in the Civil Rights Movement. Why did they do it? What did it mean to them? How did it affect their lives? These are the questions that I try to answer in this hour-long documentary. I went into this project with a lot of curiosity about these women. I came out of it with a huge amount of respect for them and the way that they have remained activists. I hope that this documentary gives it's listeners much food for thought. But in an hour I wasn't able to cover everything I hoped to. So here, on these web pages, is more information and some clips that aren't part of the documentary.
